PARKING GOES ON SALE IN AUGUST.
Parking is $10 per day or $15 for two-day pass. Proceeds benefit the Townsend Volunteer Fire Department.
Parking passes may be purchased at the Townsend Visitor Center (7906 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy., Townsend), the Maryville Welcome Center (201 S. Washington St., Maryville) or at the parking gate on event days.
FREE Townsend Shuttle
Don’t forget the FREE shuttle that takes you around Townsend.
Buses, donated from the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, run from the Heritage Center to Little Arrow to Big Meadow Campground & RV to Little River Railroad Museum to Cades Cove Cellars to Apple Valley to Townsend Visitor center to Heritage Center.
One bus runs from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a second from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., both days.
The last bus leaves the Townsend Visitor Center at 6 p.m. and returns to the Heritage Center, both Friday and Saturday.

Old Timers Day, Cades Cove

Join the Cades Cove Preservation Association for Old Timers Day in Cades Cove for a day-long event of music and discussion of Cades Cove history with former residents who lived here before and after it became part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The event will be held at the Cable Mill and Becky Cable House in Cades Cove (located on the 11-mile Cades Cove Loop Road). The CCPA will have historic exhibits and photographs of homesteads that populated the valley and the people who lived there.

The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company is a non-profit corporation founded in 1982 to preserve the heritage of the Little River Lumber Company and the Little River Railroad. We operate a museum in Townsend, collecting, preserving and exhibiting the history of these companies, and of the people in this region.
